Goodbye Founding Father

KNhEvery year we always look forward to see "ah gong" every national day and without fail he will be there and the crowd will give him the loudest cheer. The discussion will be on him how he look, how is his health and etc..

This year I believe we will all missed him. The whole national recieve a news that he passed away on 23 Mar 2015. The whole national was mourning for the lost of our nation "ah gong" Lee Kuan Yew for a week.

For me, I was at Ho Chi Minh when woke up and was looking through Facebook and got to know it. After that, I stream online radio to hear our prime minister speech about it. I feel our PM is really a stronger soul as usually after someone so dear pass away, the only thing we will want to do is to accompany the body and ensure everything is well taken care of,But for him he need to announce to the world that his father have passed on.

After that, the whole world was talking about LKY ah gong. There was a week of documentary on what he have done for Singapore and how we achieve from 3rd world to 1st world country in such a short period of time.

What make me feel the most is how he really give his best for us and also getting a pay of $1300 per month for 30 years when he was working as Singapore PM. He is really giving his all and to continue to provide and look after us even he step down as PM.

No words can express how much gratitude I have for him. Like other Singaporean, when I touch down back in Singapore on Friday 27 Mar, I was really looking forward to go and pay my last respect to this founding father but the crowd was so scary that I turn back and return back home.

On Sunday, 29 Mar, Liling and I waited at commwealth road to pay our last respect and send Mr LYK off. It was really raining very heavily that day that both of us was really wet but we stood there and wait patiently. As his cortege passed us, a lot of ppl around me teared and say their last goodbye. For me, I bowed and I thanked him for whatever he have done for us.

While Mr Lee Kuan Yew have passed on, but the spirit that he want us to learn still live on. The dedication to serve for the people and making sure that Singapore will continue to grow and advance is now every Singaporean responsible. I promise I will do my best and give my best so that I can continue to make Singapore proud for every Singaporean to call as home.

Thank you Mr Lee! You will always be remembered.

Time vs Money

When we are young,
we dreamed that we have money,
as we have all the time to ourselves,
when we just need to worry for our needs.
Just a few friends and some food,
we are content with everything.

As we step into the society,
after many years of studies,
we have the money and no longer worry about our needs.
We started to satisfied our wants,
that we believe it make us happy.

As we keep acquiring our wants,
chasing in the rat race,
we found out we are no longer happy with it.
We start to look back to see what make us happy,
and realise that the simple life is what we did.

We try to make up for that,
By organizing parties, 
we realize that everyone have their own priority.

Even when we meet up,
you realise that the conversation is no longer simple as before,
where career, status seem important 
And topics seem so serious.

When you finally form your family,
we realize that we can't alway do as what we wished,
It will never about yourself, it always about we.
Our responsible get heavier with house loan and kids,
Our time seem to never be enough
and our money seem lesser.

Now as I ponder, comparing to have time or money?
I think in the end is up to individual define as happiness.
I am glad I have a group of friends who still make time for me,
A caring family who always there for me,
A supportive wife who can share my up and down with me.
With that I choice time to spend them, to care for them.

What defined your happiness?

Lonely at Jakarta

So back to Jakarta and to support Inpex while Erwin take his well-deserved leave and spending time with his family over Hari Raya. Since nothing much to do during weekend, other than moving from one hotel to another as i wanted some place nearer to mall for me to walk about, I think the best time to spend time is to update this blog after so many thing have happened for the past few months.

I am really happy to be there and to witness Kenji and Layleng's ROM one week before my wedding day. It was a small celebration with foods at peony jade follow by going to brewerkz for more beers at clarke quay. What i remember from their wedding are:

- Layleng made her own invitation card
- Layleng's mum customized long dress
- Kenji buying his own suit and altering them before the wedding
- Pick and making their own handheld bouquet
- Cozy Lunch with friends and ROM with a lot of laughter
- Beers together with friends

From the years i know them, i know with these arrangement and simplicity, they are already contented. To keep it simple,we did not to present any dance or song, we made a poem for them and also attached all our selfies on it as a gift for them.

Now let's talk about my wedding...Even since the count down start last year, i think time really flies as now i am already lawful married to my new acquired wife. Everything started in December 2013, we have our trip to Bali (was planning to go Chiang mai for wedding shoot but in the end in Bali) and i can say it was the most adventurous thing we did. We did some research on place to take photos, find a driver and get some gown and local makeup artist and there we off to do our photos shoot. I still vividly remember that our photos shoot where we have to climb down some cliff to take the sunset as liling climb down the cliff with her gown wore and not forgetting our Karen, who was then pregnant with Charlotte, scale the cliff down to meet us at the beach and not forgetting we have to climb up. I also remember the shoot we took at PhotoHead where we have to sneak to take photos at the exterior of the building while every other staff was busy helping with the guest to move their food and drinks in as it was raining. The accommodations was not that good but we still have our small "discovery channel' of see the lizard in action and finding snake in our swimming pool. (luckly none of us have the mood to use the pool)

After the wedding shoot in Bali, the new year came and this time, I went back with liling for CNY at Malacca. It was a totally new experience see Jack's lion crew to perform and also the firework we play was like so many that i can't remember how many we have put into the sky that night. We also went to have some drinks with the cousins and inviting all the Tan's family over to Singapore for our wedding.

After that, it was March where we did our 2nd photoshoot in Singapore. We went back to Singapore Poly, where we 1st met, to take some shoot for our keeping. When i was back in SP, a lot of memories flow of those days came flowing back to me and I really enjoy the days back then. SP is no long the same as before it have change a lot, with the new business library and the big stair at the foyer have been replace. But SP will always be a part of my life. Then, we went to MacDonald follow by going to the NTUC Fairprice for photoshoot. It was really a fun day and the album turn out to be the one i like the best.

And then, we have another photoshoot in the studio, this time, we have Yangsan to be the director to take the photo as it was a wedding gift. Taking in studio was a bit put me into a bit of suspend as we have no idea how it would turn out as the screen is always white and the only person who is clear about is the director. In the end, the album is a collection of posters where we are the star and everyone turn out to like that album too.

Since March, Liling have stop working and become a  so called "full time" wedding planner. She was liaising with the hotel stuff which turn out it was not the best experience and then looking for her own gown for ROM and Soka Wedding ceremony while i am away at work,liaising with  photo booth, getting all the video and doing up the Happy video, planning for the honeymoon trip and customizing our own wedding album look and feel. I can say she have been very good help other then her working hours was 12pm to 4pm only, hahaha! But thanks dear, for the support when i was busy at work and also preparing for the wedding.

So what happen on 14 June? I started of having some hangover as i went out with my cousins for some drinks at barden before that and also I was not sleeping well for the past 2 night due to excitement. Then the brothers all reached at about 8+am and then we set off to pick the bride with heavy shower that morning. At the gate, we eat some stuff, but not weird stuff, dance and trying my very best to negotiate for hong bao price. Thank you for the 姐妹s who really 手下留情. After that we went to the morning Chinese custom of tea ceremony and then we went to the old railway track to take some photos before we proceed to the hotel.

Once we reach the hotel, we are actually at a dilemma as it was drizzling and the sky is not clearing up at 3.30pm, we dragged it till 4pm and making the decision to have to go ahead with the outdoor solemnization. I really chanted in the room for a while to make sure the rain stop so that we can have it outdoor. At 6pm, while the guests are moving into the rocks, the sky have cleared and the weather was just nice and we also got our outdoor solemnization.

Between 7pm to 8pm, the photo booth setup was done and everyone was taking turn to take photos while the rest are looking at our albums, putting down their well wishes. All I can remember was going around to say my greeting to them and being pull to the photo booth for more photos. By the time at 8pm, we are almost ready for the wedding march in but the day highlight was not ready. I still remember Ben running to the computer just a the nick of time before we want to proceed with the march in. After the highlight, we got a shock of our life. Our march in song was replace as the AV was not sure if there is any song. I still remember liling waving her hand saying "NO! THAT NOT OUR SONG! DUN OPEN THE DOOR!" In the end, we just walk in and the Brothers and sisters just do as go ahead with the plan what we have rehearsal.

At the second march in, we shown our Happy video with the interview before the songs. Thanks to Ben and Rachelle for helping with the video editing to make our interview with subtitles and making our volume louder. So after the Yam-Seng and going around tables for photo takings, I was finally down to get some drinks witht guests and as usual I have my heaviest drink at Liling's cousins table. I remember the 大伯 sang 月亮代表我的心 then following by receiving guidance from every family members. It was an hour long guidance before they left and we went back to the room to meet the rest of the gangs. I remember to eat my share of food in my hotel room and they remember me keep on saying Thank you and eat more.

Next morning, we have breakfast at the cafe downstairs and also with the help of the brothers and sisters who are there to help me to count and records all the hongbao before we proceed to the bank to bank in the money. It was the 1st time i get such a big amount to bank into my bank. I was feeling rich for about 5 days before i transfer all to the hotel.

Anyway, Just want to thanks all the brothers and sisters for the support that day, especially to Kenji and Mayann who help with the main coordinating of the whole wedding event and also making sure everything run smoothly, Yongseng and Tinlay for making special arrangement to join us in celebrating our special moment despite having to fly off to work the next day, Lionel and Vanessa for being such a wonderful and professional emcee for us. I just love all of you guys.

Not forgetting the shoten zenjin we met on the way, Pei wen from Labelle for always there to allow us to come to drop by to try out gown and making arrangement for us, Ben and Rachelle for pongten-ing there lesson for our wedding, Lawrence and YK for photoshoot and photoshop for us. Alan and the whole Jurong chapter for making our Soka Ceremony so successful. (wow, I am really fortunate to have so many shoten zenjins~)

1st Mar,2014 Yingjie & Mayann wedding

1st post of the year and i think there is no best way to start with best friend's wedding.

Start of with meeting the bukit panjang gang @7:30am as we took our ride all the way from bukit panjang to punggol. After dropping the 姐妹off at may ann place we went over to yingjie place to gather. Saw the groom car which have a super big bouquet of flower in front.yingjie say is so big that with the mini cooper car roof he can't even see the road

We have our macdonald breakfast specially prepare from yingjie and also happy to meet PS & Orange who we met them during our last year hongkong trip.  Started to get dress and the both parents started to light the 龙凤烛 together. After that the parents comb the kids hair to symbolize their wishes for their kid

After that we gathering to do our morning gongyo together before we set off to gate crash.

Upon reaching we was ask to go to lvl 3 where we form up "I love you"  and after that we went up to her house to play the second game. It was the eating part where we have ice mixed with lemon n chilli to eat.

After feasting, we are tested with identify the beer game where we drink 5 different beer to identify which brand. Everyone were so serious of getting it correct and we manage to get 3 out of 5.

After that, we have to dance 爱不怕 before getting the fake key and yingjie got to answer 3 more question before the door open

After getting the bride, we went back to yingjie place where the tea ceremony started. May ann forget to bring her 四点金 and qiang ge n i went back to her place to get it. After bringing that, she went to change to her kwah and procced to may ann place for team ceremony.

At her place we are all getting tired that we have to go and get kopitiam coffee to boost our energy. Before we can finish our coffee we are all getting ready to move out for photoshoot.

The afternoon photoshoot was a short one as we went to some ulu road to take some road to take video. While we were taking that shoot we all realise that some of the 姐妹兄弟 car are missing. Worry about maybe we drive too fast and they can't catch up. Found out is mayann mum have hold some of them to pack some food for us. Before we left the road video shoot, lucky all of them manage to reach us just before we left for phototaking. Went some park to take the some jump shoot and group photos before we move to holiday inn for our rest and wash up.

Once we reach the hotel, we are so grateful that mayann mum insisted on packing food for us as we are really hungry and started to have some food. We take turn to shower and by 4:30pm we are ready and we went for our rehearsal dance training for their mach in

After the rehearsal, we suit up and we went down to help out with registration. The brothers all look like bouncers as we all standing at the gate and thw bridemaid busy with the hongbao and telling the guest where they are seated.

At about 8:15 the guest all are seated and just before we start, there are still some guys having issue with the seats. So we just gave up our seat for them.

As the video of greeting on ROM started, lot of memories flow as we recall the fun we have on their ROM last year. The video was so funny that no matter how many time we see we still feel it is funny. As the video ended, we started to do our dance and we welcome the bride n groom into the ballroom. Dinner was serve and we dig in before we do our second dance follow by phototaking session. It was abit of chaos as some of the table is missing people and we have to delay the shoot. I am abit worry that i miss some table but in the end everything turn out to be fine.

Yingjie was nt drank by the we finish the photo instead he is looking for drinks while going to different table. Since he say he is ok i just let him drink till he need to go to the main door to shake hand.

After everything we continue to sit in the ballroom for more drinks and yingjie n mayann came over to join us. Yingjie was saying his thank you speech and hugging every brother he saw. He also keep rubbing yong seng leg until yong seng say why you keep touching my leg. Haha so funny!

We sent the bride and groom up to their room and we have our small party in our room. We continue to drink, chat and play 黑白猜. One of the sister ailing, was so happy sticking sticker onto phones and different kind of stuff that we dun even know when we got the sticker. I help in stealling peixian bag n yongseng phone to get it mob while i was happy high. We even went to taobao wantan mee back.

Everything end ard 2am as some drive back while kenji, yongseng, kinda, liling and me stay for the night.

Next morning, woke up with a headache and we struggle to get out of bed until we jio mayann and yingjie for breakfast. Mayann have offer to treat us breakfast at the cafe buffet and we went to the exclusive lounge as the main one was full. We sat and drink coffee and chi chat. It was a very gd catch up and we update mayann what was happen yesterday and she update who is the legendary 五姨.

As much as i want to stay to enjoy my time with them, i have to leave as liling and i have gakkai meeting to attend. For me, i have a young lion kenshu and i was there to help out with the bonding game.

During the study part i was struggling to keep awake as i move to the back to kneel down to make sure i can be awake to hear the lecture. Overall the lecture was good and the kenshu ended with GD and one japanese MD sharing.

It was a very tired weekend but a fruitful one. I treasure a lot for this friendship that i had and really feel it my greatest good fortune to be part of this big family.

5 More Months to End of 2013

It been a while since i last blog about my life, and now i am already at the last day of July.

 Wedding!!!

The year started off with excitement as Li Ling and I was busy preparing for our wedding. The plan was to do our ROM in September this year and next year to do our Chinese banquet. We went about looking for ROM outdoor venue and Hotel Banquet that will fit for her perfect wedding dream as I believe that it is a very important day for her. In the end, we ended not doing our ROM this year but planning to do it together with our Chinese Banquet on 14 June 2014 @ Rasa Sentosa. With the mind of having our ROM this year, we have settled some of the stuff like our wedding band, actual day wedding package (photography + wedding gown) and also even got our 四點金 (cos the gold price have drop and we want to tap on that).

I believe is our good fortune to have Lawrence to be our photographer for our per-wedding shoot as he even imitate to meet us up to talk about the wedding shot and place we can consider. After the discussion, we have decide to do two albums, one of it in local (生活照）and one in Chiang Mai. We are in the mid of planning our trip already and hopefully we can get to confirm soon. Video wise, we have also talk of some ideas and I believe the feeling will be nice... can't wait to shoot the Video and photos.

Dad and mum is also excited about it, started off with wanting to do renovation for my house and follow by that asking me about name list who to invite. Dad is also happy and excited and even offer to help me with finance. They don't really have a lot of request and really give it to me to handle. That really the good part of it.

Talking about wedding, this year we started with YingJie and Mayann ROM in March, Ping sheng's wedding, Cannie and WeiQiang ROM in June, Qiuyi's Wedding and LJ and Janice Wedding in July. It was really fun when your good friends are getting married and I really happy about it.

Painful Lesson to be reminded

This year, I have burn some cash on trading and really feel very down about it. To make thing worst, my Australia fixed deposit is also not doing well hence i am also losing some money there. I have talked to Li Ling and i really feel bad, but she just say don't do it again. Thinking back, i feel i really very foolish that at this critical period where i am suppose to save money, spend more money. Talk to Meizi and she really wake me up by saying "Since I am not sure about the market, I rather work hard and save hard lor." It simple yet i am not learning it... maybe I just need to be 脚踏实地.

@ Work

At job, started off this year support KHL in Malaysia and was there till February where i went over to Kuching to support Brooke Dockyard. It was a good experience and i really gain alot of knowledge on CMS and learning from the Clients. Also this year, i got a promotion and also have meizi to join me in my company. 2 week before that, i went over to Jakarta to do a presentation on our Document Control system to one of our Client and I hope the deal go well and we can secure this job for Omega. This year we have a lot of leads and i really look forward to get some jobs from these lead.

Pondering what is ahead of my career path, I have no idea where to move from here. I really love my company culture so much so that i really dun feel like leaving, yet at days where i have nothing much to do, i really worry if this is the life i want to lead. I think i really need to think into it and see what to do, even if it is a pay cut. Need to chant and the deadline for this is after my wedding I think, let really hope work will swarm in so much so that i cannot handle that we need more manpower!!! hahahaha


@ Gakkai

Start of the year, I have been ask to move to a new institution and left SPSD. SPSD is like a home to me and when i left, i am happy that i left SPSD with a sense of achievement as i can see many of the members have grow and unity was formed. The spirit of SPSD was back to the days where I 1st came to SPSD 7 years ago, even Li Ling told me that. I hope this group of young comrades will have ever lasting friendship like mine and keep SPSD close to their heart.

So after being posted out to SPSD, I am currently posted to ITACSD where i work hand in hand with Li Ling. It is the 1st time where chiefs have put a couple in the same institution, probably because Li Ling is also graduating maybe next year. I know I have a big mission there, but till date, i still can't feel for ITACSD and I have no idea where to start. I know that there is a very big problem of unifying the spirits but I dun know what to do about it. Good thing is that i have spoken and ITACSD TBZ are coming together to lay plan to move forward. I must take the lead! 豁岀去了. I need to base everything back to faith, faith in the gohonzon and faith to win a victory for myself

This year, I also made a breakthrough in yosha side. I was unknowingly robe in to support Youth formation day. Took up the role as publicity and it was a great challenge for me. I have 0 knowledge of publicity and with whatever help i can get, i just do my best. Although the turn out for youth did not meet the target, but the show as good and everyone enjoy themselves. I also get to know new friends and we been through a lot together. I have grow there and I hope that this year my district will have a breakthrough.

Moving toward Nov 18, I hope to accomplish the following stuff:

1) Re-read Human Revolution and finished it.
2) Reach out and foster ITACSD members and CICs
3) Reach out to district Youth
4) Reach out to Er Jie and really encourage her to chant.

The Last Quarter of the Year 2012

November is here and really time seem to pass so fast although time in office seem to pass really slow. Have move into the new office for about 2 months already and everything seem to settle down in place (other than the whiteboard which is suppose to be put on the wall on the meeting room), everything seem pretty nice and i am pretty happy with my new workplace.

Other than that, just came back from my 25 days long holiday in Europe and i think this trip really make a eye opening to me. Saw the northern light in Iceland, the mountains scenery and the different villages of Switzerland, the Eiffel tower and romantic night scenery of Paris, Tower bridge, big bell of London, not forgetting to visit my Auntie place in London too. The whole trip is so wonderful although we have some unhappiness between some of us but still we have fun.

Coming back to Singapore, I am suffering from Jet lag as i can't really fall asleep in the night for the past 1 week but this week seem better but still i am always worry that i can't fall asleep. I never know that Jet lag is so jialat. Lucky now i am feeling better.

Coming back to work, I not sure what I can do in office now since the new admin is here and she have take over most of the stuff, from what i know I am going to support my colleague in his job scope. For the software that he is taking care, he is always out in singapore to work and supporting the clients and currently he have some deadlock where he cannot manage and ask me to help him with. I am more than happy to support him not that i really interested in going oversea to work as i always feel working oversea is not like going oversea for fun, but I think is time for me to learn something new and really hopefully I can share some of his workload as his wife is giving birth soon.

So to really start off, i am expected to go Malaysia end of the month for at least 3 months support and I am kind of worry to start off the ground with only 20% knowledge of what the system does. Have did some reading but not sure it is enough. Also, for this 3 months i am not sure what to expect and hopefully my boss will be paying for me to come back every week or bi-weekly to Singapore although like my colleague say he is very stingy about this.

For SPSD, Poly 50 is coming and I am fill with excitement to join as after being away from them for past 3 week i can see they really grow to take the lead themselves and forming the connection between one other. I think their growth really give me the greatest achievement I have and I am really happy to see them grow so much.

District wise, we have hit 30 attendance for past 2 months and I can see we are moving in the correct directions and also putting more effort to planning and bring more vibrant energy to the district. Although we are still 8 less from the target we should have, I am sure that we will be able to hit the target soon and revitalize the whole district once we provide this ownership to all members. Let Jia you ba JC District 5.

Have a good movie session & catch up session with May ann,Ying jie and Kinda. Think all of us at some prime point of our careers where we are really looking for what we want.  I hope i can sort things out the direction i want to do. For now, i think i just have to do my best in every aspect.

Tick Tock, Tick Tock

Tick Tock, Tick Tock... and now is I am in mid of August 2012, 4 more months to end of 2012. Yes i agree and everyone know... I have been going for many many holidays...Taiwan! Koh Samui! Europe in Sept! But i am also very broke liao.

Taiwan

It was a great catchup session with my poly-friends and it was my 1st ever trip out with the whole group of friends to a far away city from Singapore. I am saying apart from last year Bintan trip, this is the 1st time we are taking plane out of Singapore. How do i feel? I feel it was really a good catch up with some of my friends and also get to know their partners more. Although we all have different agenda to the same place, but at least i feel we still have some quality time spend at Taiwan. Really need to thank Patrick and Meizi to organize it. I know is not easy to organize such a big gathering and trying to satisfy everyone, but i appreciate it a lot.

Koh Samui

Off to Koh Samui resort with liling ex colleagues and i really have to say, i enjoy the villa most. Every dollar worth man. Villa was huge and as usual Yang san really help us to plan and we play team games together in the evening. This time round shopping was kind of boring as there isn't any much thing to buy so what we have is many many massages which i keep falling asleep. We did manage to put up firework into the sky and also watch movie by the pool. Overall, i got a good tan that even out the dark hands that i got from Taiwan.

 Kenneth Wedding & Julian Wedding

Think i am the part where most of your friends are having wedding that i got 2 wedding on the same day. I only can be at one place and I really happy to play a part in my cousin wedding. We got ourselves some tailor suit and also i get to drive the brides car. It was kind of stressful as i really very long never drive already and by chance i got to drive cause kelvin can't help to drive. After supporting in the morning, I rush down to Julian Wedding at Regent hotel and over there another party awaits. The only regret i have is that Julian proposal was shown out and i did a very bad job videoing... I really can't forgive myself man... but i think Julian really appreciate my effort and still play it out.

After the wedding i went back to for Kenneth Wedding and the whole new English style wedding was really cool. He has his solemnization before and i think the solemnizer was late and at one point angry as we keep on talking and he started to raise his voice. But overall dinner was good and i really get to catch up with some family members. Half way through, I think Kenneth was drank and we kept have to bring him always from drink before he get intoxicated from alcohols. Finally we send him back to his room and i am sure Cindy took good care of him before i went for coffee with May ann and Yingjie after the wedding.

What about work?

Omega have been really nice to me and yes i am still without clients now in SG. Although i have helping with the relocation of the new office, someday i really feel i am really useless and i really wonder what can i do for to value add to myself and feel fulfillment in my life. I am not complain i am very grateful that i have this good fortune to be in this company and i really hope i can grow together with it, but sometime it is just too quiet and i really can't get use to it. I think i really need to revitalize myself in my work. I think this will be my determination till end of this year

SPSD & District
After coming back from Taiwan, I really have a lot of issue that i need to deal with and lucky, Lionel is on the cruise to support us. We have a very good breakthrough from our august Institution meeting of 50 members coming for the meeting to be revitalize. Although this was the meeting before their exam, they made an effort to join in the meeting which is kind of heartwarming. Although i do have some problem with some YMD but i believe we just have to give him time and really hope that he will come back to join us in activities. I feel no point forcing but rather give him time to sort his thing out. I set to really chant for him and his growth.

District wise, i can say i haven't really put in effort, but i am trying my best to really invite my friends to go and also catch up with the existing members. I need to support the Gakkai movement. Have such a relax time at work, mean i can do more for gakkai and yet i am not giving my best. Haiz i am just sometime disappointed with setting expectation on myself. I also need to breakthrough the barrier of home visiting. I can't reach members if i don't do home visits even if it mean to do it myself. Think i really need to chant a lot to find a way to conduct dialogue with members.

Ok ba hope that the rest of the year will be better and that i can really share some victories man...
